Trick Ghastly's Projector Guide
Find the perfect projector for your Trick Ghastly singing pumpkin setup.
Remember, any projector will work to bring my Trick Ghastly or Jingles clones to life. If you don't have one, you can use this guide to help find one.
It's not hard to find the perfect projector for your Trick Ghastly setup. All of the projectors I recommend are available on my Amazon store. If you need help deciding what works best for you, keep reading!
Why don't you sell projectors?
A lot of super spooks already have one. There is no point selling you something you may already have. If you don't have one, wouldn't you rather have one you can use outside of projecting my beautiful face on my inflatable? Like movie night under the stars on a chilly fall evening by the fire? I know I would!
Like pumpkins, projectors come in all shapes and sizes. If I forced you to buy one made by me, odds are you would have a lot of opinions about it. I prefer to give you the freedom to choose what works best for you, your budget, and your preferences.
Selecting a Projector
When looking at projectors there are three common things to consider.
Lumens - This is a measure of projector brightness. Don't be fooled by lower priced projectors claiming to have "9000 lumens". Look for projectors that list 'ANSI Lumens' as the measure for brightness when shopping.
Resolution - The resolution of your projector will not negatively affect your Trick Ghastly experience. While higher resolutions are better for movies, they also tend to be higher in price. Pay attention to product descriptions. The actual resolution of a projector will be listed as native resolution while often times the supported resolution is what gets displayed in the features.
Price - Most decisions come down to what makes sense for you and your budget. Price is often correlated with lumens and resolution. The higher the price, the brighter the projector and the brighter my face will be!
My Recommendations if You Don't Have a Projector
I have put together some samples of what my recommended projectors will look like at sunset. Sunset is when there is still light in the sky and you can see clearly without streetlights or a flashlight. It's typically when most Tricksters will bring their Trick Ghastly to life and when most of the Trick-or-Treaters are out and about.
These images were taken in a controlled environment simulating light similar to that at sunset. Your results could vary based on a number of environmental factors (clouds, trees, geographical location, etc.)
TMY Mini Projector
Great for beginner Tricksters and trunk-or-treat setups.
This projector is one of the most popular for beginner Tricksters. While it doesn't follow our lumen rule (claims to be 9000 lumens which is false), it is a reliable and simple to use projector. The actual lumens is closer to 120-150. It has small speakers, so connecting it to a bluetooth speaker would enhance your overall experience.

WiMiUs Projector
A great step up from the TMY Mini Projector, this one boasts a surprising 600 Lumens for the price. It's easy to setup and use and you will get a great result in the evenings. If you don't want to setup a bluetooth speaker the built in speakers work great.
